Ruth M. Tewes

Ruth M. Tewes 81, Wausau, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at North Central Health Care, Wausau. She was born May 31, 1926 in Tomahawk, daughter of the late Edward and Nettie (Seidel) Urban. On November 20, 1956, she married Wallace Tewes in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1996. Ruth worked as a nursing assistant for Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau for 32 years, until her retirement. Among her many interests, she enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, rummage sales, watching game show's and spending time with her pets. Survivors include four sons, Steven (Paula) Tewes, Wausau, Michael Tewes, Wausau, Jeffrey (Cindy) Tewes, Stevens Point and Wallace Tewes Jr., Wausau; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashley and Shyla Tewes; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Wallace, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marian Yockey; and two brothers, Charles and "Bones" Urban. Visitation will be Sunday, September 23, 2007 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
