Ruth D. Reissmann

Ruth D. Reissmann, 85, Wausau, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born August 28, 1926 in Wausau, daughter of the late Claude E. and Mabel (Blaschka) Irick. On June 8, 1946, she married Emil B. Reissmann in Wausau. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2012. Ruth was a homemaker, enjoyed sewing, knitting and traveling with her husband. Through the years, she was an active member of the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau and their St. Catherine Council. Special to Ruth, was the time spent with her family, especially attending the grandchildren's school and sporting activities. Survivors include, three children, Karen (Marvin) Strassburger, Rib Mountain and their family, Jeremy (Tammy) Strassburger and Joel (fiancAC., Jodi Knaack) Strassburger; James (Mary) Reissmann, Rib Mountain and their family, Kelly (Tim Specht) Reissmann and Kevin Reissmann; Bonnie (Robert) Pergolski, Wausau and their family, Jenna and Alisa Pergolski; four great grandchildren, Jacob Strassburger, Tiffany (Larry) Daffinson, Zachary Strassburger and Jarrett Lech; and one sister-in-law, Lois Irick, Wausau. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; an infant daughter, Sharon; one brother, Doug Irick; and two sisters, Elaine Cotey and Nancy Raulusonis-Halvarson. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. David Rybicki will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 until time of services at the church. The family wishes to extend their utmost appreciation to the entire staff of Wausau Manor, who became her second family over the years she was with them. The care and compassion extended to Ruth was sincerely appreciated and will not be forgotten. Special thanks also to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
