Ruth M. Peroutka

Ruth M. Peroutka 81, Schofield, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. She was born May 31, 1927 in Wausau, daughter of the late Cleve and Helen (Buchberger) Lyon. On November 26, 1949, she married Roger Peroutka in Wausau. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1987. Ruth was a bookkeeper for Peroutka Oil Company, Crandon and a floral designer. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Wausau and enjoyed ceramics and oil painting. Survivors include, five children, Joseph Peroutka, Anchorage, Alaska, Timothy Peroutka, Kalamazoo, Mich., Glen (Laura) Peroutka, Coal Valley, Ill., Ken Peroutka, Crandon and Janet (Marc) Babel, Wausau; six grandchildren, Joseph, Valerie, Nicholas and Andrea Peroutka and Olivia and Emily Babel; two great grandchildren, Mason and Morgan; one sister, Doris Baumann, Schofield; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Roger, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Peroutka; one sister, Lorraine Waldinger; and three brothers, Lincoln, Melvin and James Lyon. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Rafacz will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
