Ruth A. Lattyak

Ruth Ann Lattyak, 94, died Monday, January 1, 2018 after a brief illness, under the care of Ministry Hospice. Ruth was born November 6, 1923 to Matt and Anna (Gavelda) Lattyak then of the town of Wausau. In the mid-1930s, Ruth joined the Chicago household of her Aunt Mary (Lattyak) Florek and her daughters Anne and Marie Florek. After high school, Ruth worked for an olive packing plant for a year and then joined Spiegel, the prominent catalogue company where she worked for fifty-two years. Ruth regularly travelled to Wausau and was a dedicated correspondent with her dad and siblings, Edward, Elmer, Ralph, and Eleanor Lattyak, all of whom have predeceased. Ruth retired in 1995 and joined the Schofield household of her brother, Ralph (Betty) Lattyak, where she resided until her final illness. Ruth was a member of St. Therese Parish in Rothschild. Ruth's survivors are her nieces Michelle Lattyak of Pleasant Hills, CA, Kathleen Lattyak of Brookfield, WI, Lynn Nemke of Harshaw, WI, Lori Lattyak of Wausau, WI, Janet M. Lattyak of Schofield, WI, nephew Edward Kevin Lattyak of Cincinnati, OH and sister-in-law Betty Lattyak of Schofield, WI. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Louis Britto will preside. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Donations can be made in Ruth's name to the Humane Society of Marathon County or New Life Pet Adoption Center.
