Ruth D. Stencil, 81, 915 Quaw Street, Wausau, died Friday, October 25, 2002 at her home. Ruth was born July 14, 1921 in Merrill, daughter of the late Charles and Magdelyn (Kosogski) Janish. She married David Stencil on August 22, 1942 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the town of Cassel. He survives. Ruth was owner/operator of the Quick Lunch Restaurant for five years which was located on 3rd and Stewart Avenues and then worked as a Laboratory Technician for Kraft Foods. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. She was proud to have been an usher and active with the Fatima Council. She was a wonderful cook and baked many tasty treats. She enjoyed gardening and knitting. Besides her husband, David Stencil, Wausau, she is survived by one daughter, Shirley (James) Britten, Webster, MN; two sons, Dennis (Jean) Stencil, Wausau, Duane (Mary) Stencil, Wausau; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Ringle, Marathon, Iva Hanson, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law, Alvina (Frank) Szymanski, Milwaukee, Alice Janish, Wausau. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sixth Street Funeral Home.
