Russell L. Wolfe

Russell "Russ" L. Wolfe 80, Wausau, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at his home. He was born October 30, 1924 in the town of Easton, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Ladd) Wolfe. On August 23, 1947, he married Margaret Rainville at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives. Russell served in the United States Army during World War II with the Rainbow Division. For many years, Russell was employed as a salesman with Pepsi until his retirement. Among his many interests, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family in Three Lakes, Wis. He was a member of the Wausau Area Jaycees and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388, Wausau. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, Wausau; five children, Sandi (Rick) Thiel, Wausau, Rick (Mary) Wolfe, town of Easton, Charles (Mary) Wolfe, Geraldine (Dennis) Erickson and Randy (Tammy) Wolfe, all of Wausau; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Laura Post, Wausau; one brother, Raymond (Joan) Wolfe, Neillsville; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jody Thiel; one sister, Irene Kell; and one brother, Herbert Wolfe. Funeral services will be Noon Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, where full military honors will be conducted by the VFW.
