Russell J. Cumberland

Russell J. Cumberland, 57, Wausau, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. He was born June 28, 1955 in Wausau, son of Jane (Kleinheinz) Cumberland, Wausau and the late Duane Cumberland. On June 1, 2002 he married Lisa Troffer in Sarasota, Florida. She survives. Russ was a radiology technologist at Intercoastal Medical Clinic in Sarasota, Florida since 2000. He enjoyed raising his step daughter Maria, traveling, beer, food, the Green Bay Packers and painting murals. Russ truly enjoyed the state of Florida and all it had to offer. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his loyalty to his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Cumberland, Kronenwetter, his step daughter, Maria Santos, Sarasota, Florida, his mother, Jane Cumberland, Wausau, his siblings, Barbara (Bob) West, Kronenwetter, Tom Cumberland, Wauzeka, Mark (Carrie Koski) Cumberland, DePere, Lynn Cumberland, Wausau and Kay (Dale) Knapp, Tomahawk. Russ is further survived by five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Besides his father he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Cumberland. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Janusz Kowalski will preside. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. There will be a parish vigil service at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Russ's name.
