Russel D. Ristau

Russell D. Ristau, 71, Marathon, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at his home under Interim Hospice and Palliative Care. Russell "Ussie" was born June 20, 1944 in Wausau, son of the late Dalles and Hazel (Kramm) Ristau. On April 4, 1968 he married Cheryl Trantow in Mora, Minnesota. She survives. Russell grew up on a farm in Rib Falls and served his country in the United States Army from 1965-1967. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Cheryl Ristau, Marathon; children, Tim (Lora Brooker), Durham, NC and Jennifer (Mark) Price, Farmington, MN; grandchildren, Emily, Madelyn and Matthew Price; siblings, Helen Brandt, Wausau, Louise (Gordon) Kienbaum, Tomahawk, Judy Thomsen, Wausau and Betty (Craig Green) Ristau, Oceanside, CA; brother-in-law, Ellan "Jim" Zastrow, Tomahawk, many nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Zastrow and a brother, Rodney Ristau. Private family services will be held.
