Roy R. Lenzner
83, Wausau, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born March 11, 1920 in Racine, son of the late Leo and Anna (Kuhr) Lenzner. On May 18, 1946, he married Victoria Krall at St. Mary Catholic Church, Antigo. She survives.
Roy was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific for four years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388, Wausau.
Roy was a truck driver for Moland/Glendenning Company until retiring in 1982. He was the current Vice-President of the Local Retires Teamster Union #662 and a charter member of the Church of St. Anne Wausau. Among his favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, playing cards, woodworking, and camping up North. He also enjoyed the holidays and decorating his house for Christmas, which was the envy of the neighborhood. He was an avid Packer fan. Roy was a loving father, husband, grandpa who always had time to listen to them and will be deeply missed, even by his dog "Ginger".
Besides his wife, Victoria, Wausau, survivors include his children, CarolJean (James) Krummel, Minocqua, Roger (Karen) Lenzner, Merrill, Dale (Lauren) Lenzner and Donnie Lenzner both of Wausau, Gloria (Jim M.) Ruether, Schofield and Sharon (David R.) Larsen, Wausau; eleven grandchildren, Rebecca Krummel, Debra (Shane) Heilmann, Theresa Lenzner and Alan Lenzner, Jaime (Bryan) Kelly, Staci (Paul) Kempke, Tiffani Lenzner, Jennifer and Kevin Ruether, Christopher (Melani) Larsen and Vicky Jane Larsen; Two step great grandchildren, Mason and Toryn Kelly; three sisters, Catherine Kautza and Lorraine Resch, Birnawood and June Resch, Antigo; two brothers, Ralph Lenzner, Antigo and Bill (Phyllis) Lenzner, Birnawood.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mable Noskowiak and two brothers, Bob and Dick Lenzner.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Entombment will be at the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
There will be full military honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars immediately following the mass at the church.
