Rosemary L. Stencil

Rosemary L. Stencil, 67, Weston, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 under the care of her loving husband, Denis and Ministry Home Care Hospice. She was born February 21, 1949 in Wausau, daughter of the late Max and Alice (Cherek) Ostrowski. On November 21, 1968, she married Denis Stencil in Wausau. Rosemary enjoyed working for local florists as a floral designer and also worked in sales for area retail stores. Family and friends will remember Rosemary mostly for her beautifully tended flower gardens, her love of nature and her compassion for animals, especially birds. She enjoyed sharing her life experiences with her many loving nieces and nephews whom she nurtured and cared for dearly. Rosemary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include, her loving husband of 47 years, Denis Stencil, Weston; three sisters, Marcia (Jeff Holzem) Pospychalla, Brownsburg, Ind., Joan Grubbs, Lake Whitney, Tex. and Jean (Roger) Sydow, Wausau; one brother, LeRoy (Kay) Ostrowski, Prescott, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Darleen Writz, Elderon, Wis. and Rose Marie Ledden, Stoddard, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
