Rosemary A. Nelson

Rosemary A. Nelson 1910 Third Street, Wausau, died Monday March 13, 2006 at Marywood Convalescent Center, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born May 29, 1920 in Michigan, daughter of the late Claude and Sue (Henry) Nelson. Rosemary taught English in the Stevens Point School District for 38 years until her retirement in 1986. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Resurrection where she was an organist. Her musical talents were shared at other churches, especially St. Anne Parish, Wausau. Throughout her musical lifetime, Rosemary gave countless organ and piano lessons to generations of families. She was a contributor to many charitable organizations locally and nationally. Collecting was a favorite pasttime of Rosemary's with extensive collections of dolls, paperweights, letter openers, clocks and sheet music. She had been a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No.10 Auxiliary, Catholic Woman's Club, Wausau Women's Club, American Association of University Women, Blue Triangle Club, Catholic Daughters of America, American Guild of Organists, Retired Teachers Association, Wausau Area Music Teachers and the YWCA. Survivors include cousins and many friends. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 18, 2006 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
