Rose Schlag
87, 502 E. Thomas Street, Wausau, died Wednesday September 26, 2001 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital after a brief illness.
Rose was born August 26, 1914 daughter of Casmir and Mary Matuszak. On June 17, 1939 she married Herbert Schlag in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1997.
Rose was an avid bingo player and enjoyed gardening. She and Herb also enjoyed spending time with friends and family while playing cards and sharing her fine homemade deserts.
Survivors include two sons, Bob (Sandy) Schlag, Milwaukee and Ken Schlag, St. Paul, Minn., three grandchildren, Laurie, Tammy and Brad, two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Alexa, and one sister, Katherine Scheel, Crivitz. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday October 1, 2001 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross, her longtime friend will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the Sixth Street funeral home followed by a rosary service.
