Rose C. Polakovic, 92, 5307 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, died April 20, 2003, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
Rose was born March 27, 1911, in Park Falls, daughter of the late Wolfgang and Caroline (Brandle) Pritzl. She married Stephen A. Polakovic on July 27, 1929 in Park Falls. He preceded her in death July 29, 1975.
Rose was a homemaker and worked in the meat department at Bautsch's 29 Super for nearly 20 years. She enjoyed playing cards and going out to eat at various area restaurants with the many friends she made over the years in her neighborhood. Gardening, knitting and crocheting afghans and such were among her favorite things to do.
Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie (Donald) Thompson, Fountain City; six grandchildren, Debra, Patricia, Michael, Mark, Milissa, Charles; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Stephen and her parents she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
The funeral mass will be Noon, Saturday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
