Rose M. Kondzela

Rose M. "Sis" Kondzela 84, formerly of 707 N. 2nd Avenue, Edgar, died, Tuesday, March 14, 2006 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. She was born January 11, 1922 in Birnamwood, daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Brounacker) Kondzela. Rose moved from Elmhurst to Edgar in 1927 and for the next 38 years she worked at Badger Basket, formerly known as Standard Container. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. Survivors include her siblings, Delores Wedderien, Oceanside, Calif., Phyllis (Harold) Rodesch, Edgar, Rocky (Pete) Kondzela, Ketchikan, Alaska, Raymond (Gloria) Kondzela, Merrill, one sister-in-law, Esther Kondzela, Schofield, one son-in-law, Mike Strasser, Edgar, her grandchildren, Tami Copeland, Edgar, Jennifer (Bruce) Bauman, Merrill, Matt (Jessie) Strasser, Edgar, her great grandchildren, Aaron, Todd, Amanda and Trevor Copeland, Samantha and Tom Bauman and Jordyne and Dakota Strasser, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Ruth Strasser, one granddaughter, Tracy Strasser and three brothers, John, Bill and Henry Kondzela. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2006 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Norman Boneck and The Rev. Donald Berg will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
