Rose F. Buchberger

Rose F. Buchberger 92, formerly of Rothschild, died Sunday February 7, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born September 1, 1917, in the town of Rietbrock, daughter of the late Theodore and Frances (Writz) Myszka. On June 24, 1939, she married Edward Zastrow in Edgar. He preceded her in death July 17, 1963. She married Leo Buchberger on August 18, 1968, in Tomahawk. He preceded her in death July 7, 1985. Rose had been employed for 24 years as a press operator at the former Stolze Printing, Wausau. She enjoyed crocheting, playing sheepshead, telling stories and an occasional trip to the casino. Survivors include a son, Richard (Joan) Zastrow, Bettendorf, Iowa, a daughter, Mary Lemirand, Rothschild, grandchildren, Brent (Andrea) Zastrow, Brad Zastrow, Terri Lemirand, great-grandchildren, Alexa and Brittany Zastrow, one brother and three sisters, Louis Myszka, Wausau, Martha (Carl) Zielinski-Reinvold, Lake Havasu, Ariz., Marcella Vogedes, Menominee Falls, Loretta Jaske, Iowa, three step children, Roger (Ramona) Buchberger, Wausau, Don (Arlene) Buchberger, Wausau, Grace (Bob) Rauscher, Janesville, 13 step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Paul, Leo, Andy, John, Joe and Victor Myszka as well as two sisters, Julia Boris and Sister Mary Kay Myszka, a son-in-law, Curtis Lemirand and a great-grandson, Mitchell Lemirand, two step daughters, Marlene and Deloris. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday February 11, 2010 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Gregory Michaud will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Drake Hall at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, the staff of the Cardiac ICU at Wausau Hospital, especially her nurse, David, and special thanks to the Aspirus Chaplains, Pastor Rich Block and to Father Gregory Michaud for his comfort and support.
