Ronald "Ronnie" Zenner

Ronald "Ronnie" J. Zenner, 77, Athens, died Monday, July 7, 2014. He was born June 23, 1937 in Marshfield, son of the late Michael and Lillian Zenner. On June 21, 1958 he married Shirley Weiler at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. She survives. Ronnie worked as a truck driver for the Marathon County Highway Department for 31 years. He also worked for Thurs Trucking for 10 years and Peter Trucking for 7 years. He enjoyed working in the woods, hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR and the Brewers. Above all he cherished time spent with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Zenner; children, Debbie (Jerry) Block, Sandi (Larry) Stafford, Mike (Karen) Zenner, Jerry (Tamey) Zenner and Jeff (Krista) Zenner; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild on the way; brother, Bill (Grace) Zenner, many other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Bernie (Connie) Zenner. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Paul Hoffman and Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Friends may call Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. There will be a 7:30 p.m. rosary Wednesday at the Athens funeral home.
