Ronald E. Strek

Ronald "Ronnie" E. Strek 86, Wausau, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at his home. He was born April 3, 1925 in Wausau, son of the late Gilbert and Florence (Putteen) Strek. On June 2, 1947, he married Priscilla Le Mere at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives. Ronnie was a journeyman plumber for 45 years in the Wausau area until his retirement and was a member of the Plumbers Union #434. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his dog "Silver". Survivors include, his wife of 63 years, Priscilla Strek, Wausau; four children, Gilbert Strek, Wausau, Peggy Cabot, Colorado, James Strek, Tomahawk and Steve (Sue) Strek, Wausau; five grandchildren, Jesse Strek, Washington, Katie and Breck Cabot, Colorado, Danny and Curt Strek, Wausau; two brothers, Leroy Strek, Wausau and Jack Strek, Minocqua; one sister, Janice (John) Bailey, Rhinelander and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Scott Daniel Strek. Funeral services will be at Noon on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will officiate.
