Ronald F. Marten Sr. 2341 Fawn Road, Mosinee died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Langlade Memorial Hospital, Antigo. He was born February 15, 1945 in Wausau, son of the late Kermit and Sophie (Koch) Marten. On November 3, 2006 he married Amanda Geiger in Wausau. She survives. Ronald worked at Wausau Steel for over 33 years as a saw operator. Some of his favorite pastimes included playing cards and doing carpentry work but most of all he was always known to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Ronald kept a close eye on his two favorite teams, the Yankees and the St. Louis Rams and always found time to enjoy the company of his children, grandchildren and his dog, Casey. Survivors include his wife, Amanda Marten, Mosinee, his children, Ronald (Michelle) Marten Jr., Schofield, Rodney (Michelle) Marten, Wausau, Jordan Marten, Mosinee and Derek Marten, Mosinee, six grandchildren, Rubecca Moser, Brittany and Amber Soyk, Justin Tomson and Shannon and Christina Marten, his siblings, Roger (Jean) Marten, Wausau, Audrey (Bob) Narlock, Rhinelander, Eleanor Kannenberg, Wausau, Shirley (Larry) Marten, Ringle, Patty (Bob) Schroeder, Rothschild, Debbie (Terry) Anderson, Wausau and his mother-in-law, Sharon Geiger, Granton. Ronald is further survived by his god children, Carrie Ann Butenhoff, Michael Kannenberg Jr. and Michael Kannenberg Sr., Cassidy Kannenberg and Jasmine Mitchell and special friends Melissa Block, Elizabeth Shelton, Bradley Block, Daren Block and Kylee Behar. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Kannenberg. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Rev. John Meachen will officiate. Burial will be in Forestville Cemetery, town of Easton. Friends may call on Wednesday from 1:00 pm. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
