Ronald B. Gorectke
80, 2006 N. 7th Street, Wausau, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born October 9, 1925 in Wausau, son of the late Ben and Bea (Brandt) Gorectke. On February 23, 1952 he married Rose Kroeplin at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1997.
Before retiring from the Wausau Post Office Ron worked for Curtis Manufacturing, Marathon Electric and Wausau Homes. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Most of all Ron enjoyed the great view that he had from his front porch.
Ron proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his children, Steve (Sue) Gorectke, Shawano, Paul (Cindy) Gorectke, Sun Prairie, Sherry (Terry) Borchardt, Wausau and Tammy (Harold Cline) Gorectke, Eau Claire, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother Gerald Gorectke.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
