Roger E. Poblitz, 80, of Wausau, died peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau, with his family by his side.
He was born on August 31, 1945, in Vancouver, Washington, to the late Earl and Adelaide (Smith) Poblitz. He graduated from Ripon High School and later married Sharon Buchholz on September 11, 1965.
In 1971, they moved to Wausau. Roger worked for the United States Postal Service for over 40 years. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his grandchildren, attending different fairs and festivals with family and friends, and fishing with his grandson. He also had a love for music.
Survivors include his two daughters, Michelle (Jesse) Bornfleth and Melanie (Bart) Riddell; one grandson, Evan Paul Holtz; one granddaughter, Chloe Rose Holtz; and one step-grandson, Erik Scott Riddell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Poblitz; and parents, Earl and Adelaide Poblitz.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, with Deacon Erv Burkhardt presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until time of service, all at the funeral home. The burial will be on Friday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon.
