Roger L. Benson

Roger L. Benson 67, Kronenwetter, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He was born May 2, 1943 in Eau Galle, son of the late Earl and Margaret (Nutter) Benson. On May 22, 1965 he married Georgia Fergot in Rockford, Illinois. She survives. Roger worked at Foremost Farms in Rothschild for more than 30 years. Some of his favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers and following NASCAR, especially the Earnhardt's. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Benson, Kronenwetter, his children, Michele Peters, Weston, Jody (Kristin) Benson, Edgar and Pat (Tracy) Benson, Neenah, five grandchildren, Marissa, Max and Dylan Peters and Taylor and Madeson Benson, his siblings, Richard (Candy) Benson and Robert (Mary) Benson, both of Fairchild, Ronald (Coralee) Benson, Wausau, Rita (Bill) Seiler, Elephant Butte, New Mexico, Rosi (Nick) Spang, Beaver Dam, Ruth (Duane) Wampole, Mosinee and Raymond (Diane) Benson, Boyd along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Doris and George Fergot. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar. The Rev. Robert Streveler will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Edgar funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Roger's name.
