Robert “Bobby” C. Wilichowski, 88, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born September 10, 1929 in Fond du Lac, son of the late Carl and Margaret (Corda) Wilichowski. On June 24, 1953 he married Mildred “Muddie” Krebsbach at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. She preceded him in death on June 24, 2003.
Robert worked many years as a hog, ginseng and dairy farmer and still lived on the family farm which is now being run by his sons and nephew. He looked forward to updates at breakfast and was always interested in what was going on that day. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching old John Wayne Westerns and playing cards especially sheepshead. He also enjoyed gardening and wood crafting.
Survivors include his four daughters, Sharon (Mark) Berndt, Marathon and their children, Bryan (Marie), Lisa (special friend Chris Harris), Katie (Justin) Wright and Kurt, Susan Wilichowski, Edgar and her children, Jason (Crystal) Stencil and Jennifer (Mike) Merriam, Barbara Wilichowski, Marathon and Janice (Martin) Kallenbach, Medford and their children, Travis (Jessica) and Tanya (Samuel) Kleutsch; three sons, Gary (Kae) Wilichowski, Marathon and their children, Derek (Melissa) and Taylor (Nick) Weidman, James (Barb) Wilichowski, Marathon and their children, Ashley (Ben) Wesolowski and Logan, and Patrick Wilichowski, Marathon; great-grandchildren, Myia, Boe and Brody Berndt, Julianna and MyKenna Wright, Jaydah and Emma Berndt, Brady and Mallory Stencil, Carter Kallenbach, step great-grandson, Dylan Dobratz, baby boy Kleutsch on the way, Allyson, Rylee and Parker Wilichowski; sisters Marge Buchberger, Wisconsin Rapids and Joann Wilichowski, Marathon and a brother, Charles (Dianne) Wilichowski, Marathon.
Besides his parents and wife, Mildred, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie and a sister, Lucille Wilichowski and a brother-in-law, Albert Buchberger.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.
The family would like to thank Dr Schoen from the Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield and also the EMTs and Emergency room staff at the Marshfield Hospital for all their help and caring for Bobby.
