Robert "Bob" A. Kucirek

July 5, 1934 — December 27, 2024

Robert “Bob” A. Kucirek, 90, was taken to heaven on December 27, 2024 after passing away peacefully in the care of the palliative care unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born in Wausau, WI on July 5, 1934 to the late Joseph and Florence (Schreier) Kucirek. He was a graduate of Wausau Senior High class of 1952. He married Angela “Angie” Schilling on October 5, 1963 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Wausau and they enjoyed just shy of 55 years together before her passing on October 1, 2018.

Bob and Angie spent many years traveling throughout the United States (49 states) with Bob’s work and as devoted members of the Catholic Order of Foresters Court No. 498 where Bob was a 50 year member. He was elected and held many offices on the local, state and national levels including, State Chief Ranger from 1976-1986 until elected High Court Trustee in 1986. He held several offices of the Central Wisconsin District including, Trustee, Vice President and President. They were long time members of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Wausau where he was very involved including, President of Parish Council, Trustee and President of the Finance Council. He was also a minister of the Eucharist. He is now a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church in Wausau. God and church were the center of Bob and Angie’s life.

Bob was a past member and first Vice President of the Wausau Jaycees and a member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus George J. Schreier Council 1069.  He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #248, where he generously donated to the recent remodeling project. Bob was an excellent bowler and enjoyed golf in his early years. He enjoyed all Wisconsin sports, but mostly the Packers and Brewers.  Bob and Angie liked to fish with Angie’s sister, Annie and her husband, Eddy at the Hajec property on Lake Dubay. Some good fish stories have been told. He had a passion for decorating their home for all holidays but went all out at Christmas with beautiful displays of Christmas villages, nativity scenes, poinsettias, and a beautiful rotating tree. They hosted many family members and friends during the holiday season

Bob retired in 1995 from Wausau Insurance Company with 42 years experience in the property / casualty field, advancing to Director of Property Products at the time of his retirement.

After retirement, Bob and Angie did some traveling with the Foresters but Bob mostly spent time outside in his beautiful yard planting and growing many types of flowers.

He took pride and cared for his property until he was 88. He then moved to Primrose Retirement Community in May of 2023 where he really enjoyed the wonderful staff, activities, music and delicious food. Thank you to the entire Primrose staff for taking such wonderful care of Bob for his last 19 months. He really loved it there.

Survivors include 18 nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Joseph and Florence and the love of his life Angela, he was preceded in death by his two brothers Joseph and Donald.
