Roberta M. Halkoski

Roberta M. Halkoski, 90, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, under the care of Moments Hospice at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston.

She was born July 28, 1934, in Birnamwood, daughter of the late Earl and Margaret (Clauss) Vaughn.  On October 22, 1952, she married David “Dave” Halkoski at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau.  He preceded her in death on December 30, 2009.

From 1961 to 1973 they owned Bert and Daves Bar near Hatley and the Bert and Dave’s softball team was well known in the area.  After retiring they enjoyed many winters in Sun City, Arizona.

Survivors include her children, Dennis (Paula) Halkoski, Diane (Alan) Christensen and Debra (Grant) Ketchum; grandchildren, Jacob Christensen, Matthew (fiancé Barb) Christensen, April Mbida, Luke Halkoski, Benjamin (Shannon) Halkoski, Rebecca (fiancé Max) Ketchum and Michaela (Chris) Walter; nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Dave, she was preceded in death by sisters, Audrey Buchkowski, Norma Brenden, Sharon Stead, Jeanette Janikowski and brothers, Earl Jr, Keith, Jerald and Dale Vaughn.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley.  Rev. Jerome Patric will preside.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley.
