Roberta A. Haack, 81, 904 South 20th Avenue, Wausau, died Monday, June 3, 2002 in the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Medical Center, La Crosse.
Roberta was born July 24, 1920 in Chili, daughter of the late Fred and Marie (Spuhler) Heinze. She later married Norman Haack on October 28, 1942 in Waupaca. He preceded her in death June 15, 1987.
Roberta worked for the Christian Bookstore in Wausau for over 25 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Altar Guild, Welfare Workers, bible class and visited the church shut-ins. Roberta volunteered for the Community Health Care Gift Shop, Meals on Wheels, Bethesda Thrift Shop and the Aging & Disability Resource Center. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, ballroom dancing, outdoors and traveling, especially to Africa and taking cruises.
She is survived by two daughters; Dr. Cynthia (North) Hauschild, Skaneateles, N.Y., Rebecca (Daniel) Deetz, LaCrosse; one son; Dr. Barry (Ellen) Haack, Fairfax, Virginia. six grandchildren; one brother; Floyd (Lillian) Heinze, Marshfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Verna Haack, Florence Spuhler and June Hildebrandt; three brothers, Oscar, Ralph and Clarence Heinze.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Keith R. Haldeman will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau and again from 10:30 a.m., Friday at the church until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a Hospice Program, Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
