Robert A. Szydel

Robert "Bob" A. Szydel, 59, Ogema, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born June 8, 1945 in Milwaukee son of the late Laverne and Lucy (Pryba) Szydel. On October 23, 1976 he married Bonnie Bluedorn in Milwaukee. She survives. Bob was a loving husband and father who served proudly in the United States Air Force in France and Vietnam. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing, remodeling and woodworking. Bob was a machinist for many years. He enjoyed vacations to favorite tropical getaways. Time spent at Spirit Lake was a dream come true. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Szydel, Ogema; one daughter, Amanda (Ryan) Oonk, Sheboygan; one son, Ezra (April Haga) Szydel, Stevens Point; one brother, Donald Szydel, Oak Creek; one sister, Darlene (Dennis) Suminski, Mukwonago; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Szydel. Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2004 at First Presbyterian Church, Merrill. Rev. Donald King will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family directs memorials to the charity of one's choice.
