Robert "Bob" F. Salzman

Robert F. "Bob' Salzman, 79, town of Berlin, died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. He was born August 5, 1936 in Wausau, son of the late Felix and Florence (Wilke) Salzman. On January 18, 1964 he married Paulette Brzozowski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menominee Falls. She survives. Bob was a heavy equipment operator/mechanic for many road construction companies across the state. He was a proud Union Member of the Local 139 for more than 55 years. Bob was a true family man. He supported his sons when it came to tractor pulls and their race cars and always filled any need for Rebecca and Paulette if something came up. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis. Survivors include his wife Paulette Salzman, town of Berlin, his children, Bradley (Cindy) Salzman, Merrill and his two children, Sherrie (Andy) White and Michelle Salzman, both of Merrill, Douglas (Melanie) Salzman, Elkhart Lake and Rebecca (Mike) Salzman, Atlanta, GA, his siblings, Donald Salzman, Wausau and Pat Henricks, Milwaukee and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob is further survived by his special friend and companion, Ms. Noodles. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Salzman. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon, Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. Dan Thelen will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Bob's name.
