Robert W. Montay

Robert W. Montay, 76, Wausau, died Monday, May 19, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He was born April 20, 1938 in Wausau, son of the late William and Helen (Manowski) Montay. Before retirement, Robert had worked at James River Corporation for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a sports enthusiast, liked to watch NASCAR and above all he cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Survivors include his children, Terrie (Patrick) Bresnahan, Plover, Linda (Robert) Zorman, Edgar, Diana (Kurt) Stoeger, Arbor Vitae, Steven (Kathleen) Montay, Cumming, Georgia and Chad (Kelly) Kroening, Port Washington; grandchildren, Lisa, Kurt, Alex, Amanda, Holly, Kurt, Cody, Alexandra, Christopher, Lindsay and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Zachariah, Althea, Erzsebet, Nolan and Vivian. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2014 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
