Robert "Bob" E. Line
82, Wausau, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born October 24, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of the late John and Ruth (Myers) Line. On September 31, 1950, he married Joanne D. Nowitzke at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on April 5, 1994.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. For many years, he was employed with the former American Can, Wausau until his retirement. Among his many interest, he enjoyed golfing and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Milwaukee Brewers fan. Most of all, Bob loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include, two daughters, Mary (Glenn) Schaepe, Rhinelander and Bonnie Line, Wausau; one son, Robert S. (Delores) Line, Mosinee; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Nathan) Taylor, Appleton, Stephanie Schaepe, Medford, Teressa Schaepe, Milwaukee, Kristin Line, Wausau, Michael (Allison) Line, Urbandale, Iowa, Kimberly (Brian) Line-Berget, Weston and Joel Line, San Francisco, Cal. six great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Helaina, Henry, Taylor, Jace and Owen; and one sister, Lois Lane, Florida.
Besides his parents and wife, Joanne, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Line and an infant twin brother, James.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Entombment will be in the Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
