Robert D. "Bob" Krueger 72, Wausau, died Monday, February 26, 2007 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. Bob has joined one of his special grade school buddies of over 60 years, Ray Dabroski, in eternal rest. He was born September 2, 1934 in the town of Wien, son of the late Lester Sr. and Myrtle (Pagenkopf) Krueger. On June 29, 1968, he married Enid Coats in Berlin, Wis. She survives. For many years, he worked as a mechanic for the former Bob Johnson Chevrolet, until owning and operating his own business, Bob's Service on Wausau's west side for nearly 29 years until retirement. He was well known in the area for his excellent mechanical abilities and his specialty for repairing Corvairs was well known. There was always a card game of smear being played at Bob's Service, which holds lots of memories and stories. Through the years, Bob was an avid bowler, having bowled in many leagues. Among his many interests, he enjoyed golfing, card playing, an occasional trip to the casino, fishing and especially his more than 20 years of camping at Campers Haven Camp Grounds near Tomahawk during the summer, where many life long friendships were made. Survivors include, his wife of 39 years, Enid Krueger, Wausau; two sons, Warren (Patti) Krueger, Green Bay and Brian (Brigitta Wiegand) Krueger, Mosinee; one daughter, Melissa (Rick) Beese, Wausau; six precious grandchildren, Jason (Nicole), Jeremy, Matthew and Joshua Krueger and Kelly and Sarah Beese; four sisters, Carol Simon, Kenosha, Phyllis (Bill) Clark, Mosinee, Marlene (Ken) Aschbrenner, Merrill and Virginia (Bill) Stein, Rhinelander; two brothers, Lester Jr. (Jeanne) Krueger, Mosinee and Harland (Pat) Krueger, Elderon; and five aunts, many nieces and nephews that will greatly miss him. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2007 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. Rev. Nancy Johnson Russell will officiate.
