Robert J. Koltz 75, Wausau, died Friday January 1, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born December 12, 1934, son of the late Walter and Ruth (Sillars) Koltz. Robert graduated from Wausau High School and on October 31, 1953, married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis McCutcheon. Robert served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Robert was a sales rep for the grocery store industry for the first 20 years before entering the construction business and later the insurance business before retiring. Robert was a member of the Wausau Elk's Lodge No. 248, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post No. 388 and the American Legion, Montgomery Plant Post No. 10. Bob was an avid golfer and sports fan of boxing, football and NASCAR. Bob enjoyed teaching his children how to hunt and hunting with many family and friends. He also enjoyed camping, bowling, playing cards, fishing in Canada and his winters in Florida. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Koltz, Wausau, seven children, Mary Koltz, St. Paul, Minn., Holly (Joel) LeGrande, Oregon, Robert T. (Sue) Koltz, Brooklyn Center, Minn., Donald Koltz and friend, Sandy Funt, Blaine, Minn., Peggy (Rod) Kleiber, Wausau, Heidi Gronna, Tomahawk, and Kurt Koltz, Wausau, one brother-in-law, Donald (Cy) McCutcheon, 12 grandchildren, Nicole Fenhaus, Ryan LeGrande, Joel Helding, Lindsey LeGrande, Noel Mark, Kasey Koltz, Clinton Koltz, Dylan (Koltz) Hale, Robert J. Koltz Jr., Jacob Koltz, Rose Gronna and Sheridan Gronna. Step granddaughter, Kaylie Kleiber and one great grandson, Keaton LeGrande. Robert also leaves behind an aunt, Arlene Sillars, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kelly, a son, Noel at age 26, a grandson, Andrew LeGrande, and four brother and sisters-in-law, David McCutcheon, Abby McCutcheon, Rose and Dale McCutcheon. A special Thank You to the many friends and neighbors, especially, Dick Nieuwenhuis, the "Boys" at the coffee Club, Andy and Mickey Mayer, and friends in Florida. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.Tuesay January 5, 2010 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Second Street, downtown Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
