Robert J. Klos 77, 3914 Henry Street, Wausau, died Saturday January 24, 2004 at his home. He was born August 20, 1926 in Wausau, son of the late Max Jr. and Florence (Schmirler) Klos. On June 14, 1947 he married Olive May Lackey in Honey Creek. She preceded him in death on June 13, 1993. Prior to his retirement, Bob had been employed as a machinist for the former Wausau Motor Parts, Schofield. He was a member and past Financial Secretary for the International Association of Machinists Local 1438. He was a member of the Wausau Elks Lodge No. 248, Wausau, the Radio Control Airplane Club and was a member and Captain of the Wausau Emergency Police Association. As a proud veteran of the US Navy, Bob served in World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post No. 388, Wausau and a member of the American Legion, Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Among his many hobbies and interests were, gardening, hunting, fishing, airplanes, woodworking, softball and his dogs. His passion however, was dancing. Survivors include his beloved companion, Gloria Blume, Wausau, two daughters, Barbara (Craig) Reineking, Parker, Colo., and their family, Brad (Nancy) Reineking and Mark (Kate) Reineking; Debbie Steele, Wausau and her daughter, Lindsay Steele; two sons, Robert (Jean) Klos, Wausau, and their children, Heather Klos, Tom Klos and Michelle Klos; Tim (Dawnelle)Klos, Mosinee, and their children, Tyler Klos and Amanda Klos; four great-grandchildren, one brother, Alan (Violet) Klos, Wausau. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Weds. January 28, 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Steven Gjerde will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, where full military honors will be conducted by members of the VFW and American Legion. Friends may call on Weds. from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
