Robert Gierke

Robert "Bob" W. Gierke 87, Wausau, died Monday, November 1, 2010 at North Central Health Care, Wausau. He was born February 20, 1923 in Michigan, son of the late Frank and Mary Louise (Gould) Gierke. He married Josephine Patton who preceded him in death. Bob worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and served his country in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his four children, Robert (Debra) Gierke, Manistique, Mich., Jeri (Wally) Blumenstein, Mosinee, Mary Praschak, Lake Havasu City, Ariz. and John Gierke, Escanaba, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Johnson, Manistique, Mich., and his long time friend, Germain Gebhardt, Wausau.
