Robert Gauerke

Robert Gauerke 66, Wausau, died Thursday, November 7, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born January 5, 1936 in Wausau, son of Eleanore (Gorecki) Gauerke, Wausau and the late Alvin Gauerke. On May 16, 1964, he married Barbara White at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. She survives. Robert was Veteran of Korean Conflict serving in the US Army. He was employed at Wausau Papers as a quality controller for 42 years until retiring in 1998. He enjoyed going up north, fishing and hunting. Besides his wife, Barbara, Rib Mountain and his mother, Eleanore, Wausau, survivors include; one daughter, Beth (Pat) Gazda, Rib Mountain and their son Zachery; two brothers, James (Sue) Gauerke and Gary Gauerke both of Wausau. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 at the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Internment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau where full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion and the VFW. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
