Robert H. Disbrow
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away in Madison, Wisconsin, Thursday November 21, 2002.
Robert was born to Harold and Lula Disbrow on May 1, 1917 in Wausau, Wisconsin. He married Florence Maaser on November 16, 1940 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Disbrow, Madison, four children, Thom Disbrow, Calif., Sue (Frank) Bernardo, Ariz., Rick (Anna Eberl) Disbrow, Colorado and Nancy Disbrow, Wisconsin. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Jennifer Bernardo, Steve Bernardo, Angela (Lance) Cain and Jaime Disbrow and two great-granddaughters, Amanda Wirth and Eleanor Cain. One step-sister as well as numerous nieces and nephews survive.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Orville McCormick, four brothers, one step-brother, four sisters and one half sister.
Robert was active in many community organizations throughout his life, including, a Life Member of the Elk's Lodge, Past President of the Wausau Area Taxpayers League and he served one term on the Marathon County Board.
He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and had been employed at Curtis Lumber, H.J. Phillips, Allemite Company and General Motors, where he retired in 1974 as a district manager.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 26, 2002 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Donald Baumann will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
