Robert L. Cedar
79, 307 N. 13th Street, Wausau, died Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born November 17, 1925 in Manchester N.H., son of the late John and Evelyn (Hall) Cedar. On May 29, 1948, he married Priscilla Wentworth in Manchester. She survives.
Robert was a graduate of Boston University and Chicago Theological Seminary at the University of Chicago. In 1970, he was ordained and served parishes in Fort Atkinson, Wis., River Edge, N.J. Crystal Lake, Ill, and Freedom, N.H.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed reading, and was a former Rotarian and Jaycee. During World War II, he served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer aboard an LSM.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Cedar, Wausau; one daughter, Nancy Cedar, Wausau; one son, Bruce (Nonnie) Cedar, Brooklyn, Mass.; and five granddaughters, Tessa, Arielle and Emma Cedar and Kate and Erin Seybold.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Cedar.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at First Universalist Unitarian Church, Wausau. Rev. Paul Beckel and Rev. Julie Stoneberg will officiate. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
