Robert "Bob" R. Burger passed away surrounded by family and friends at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Nov.3, 2010.
Bob was born the son of Ben Sr. and Mary (Duquette)Burger on September 8, 1955 in Wausau. He graduated from Wausau East High School.
Bob was currently employed by Jarp Industries in Schofield in the Receiving dept. He had worked in the past for National Food Stores, worked pipelines in the bayous of New Orleans and ran his own septic business, Evergreen Septic.
Bob was a past Boy Scout Leader and member of the Order of the Arrow, instilling values in the hearts of young men; values he continued teaching to his niece and nephews. He did this all while spending time hunting, fishing, taking walks in the woods or just spending an afternoon sitting around shooting the breeze. He also enjoyed time up at his trailer and going to auctions.
Bob lived his life in many areas including Rhinelander, Hibbing, MN, and New Orleans but Wausau was home to him. It was where he returned to reside to be close to family, living in the home where he was raised.
Bob is survived by his parents Ben and Mary Burger, of Wausau, brothers Ben Jr, (Kathy) of Merrill, Bruce (Kim) of Redmond, OR, Brian of Coulterville, CA and Blake (Lisa) of Wausau, He is further survived by nephews Dan, Mark(Courtney), Jason (Aurora), Chris (Elylia), and Matthew and one niece Katie (Christopher) Stockman, as well as great nieces and nephews Xander, Genivieve, Christopher and Ila. He is also survived by his latest companion, Lady.
Bob will be missed by family and friends including Jeff, Mark, Missy and Carol Raymer and Gary and Mary Dettmering, all who made marks on his life.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Marathon County.
