Rita Rae Falkowski

Rita Rae Falkowski, 72, Wausau, died Sunday November 16, 2014 at the Hospice House, after a four year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born August 24, 1942, in Rockford, Illinois, daughter of the late Austin and Catherine (Wolf) Teeters. On June 24, 1961, she married Gilbert John Falkowski. He preceded her in death January 13, 1998. Rita graduated from Bishop Muldoon Catholic School for Girls in Rockford, Illinois and during her school years, had been employed as a secretary at the Kreske Store. Following graduation, she worked at the Carpetline Store and the Rockford Water Department. After marriage, she worked in Data Processing at Greenlee's. In 1969, the family moved to Wausau, where Rita worked at Green Bay Packaging and did secretarial work for the family business of Fur, Fin and Feather Taxidermy. In her free time, Rita loved to travel and watch all sports, especially football. Survivors include her sons, Timothy (Lana) Falkowski, Wausau and their sons, Hunter and Bryce; Troy (Jennifer) Michael, Washington,; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Falkowski, Wausau; sisters, Donna Sutton and Ardith (Don) Lund, all of Rockford, Karen (Ron) Meyers, Archdale, North Carolina; brothers, Dennis (Rose) Teeters, Glidden, Joe (Nancy) Teeters, Gladville, Tenn., Thomas (Cheryl) Teeters, Crystal Falls, Mich., an aunt, Gerry Kapala, Roscoe, Ill., many cousins, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Todd Falkowski, a sister, Corine and a brother, Virgil. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Noon, Friday November 21, 2014 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
