Richard “Rick” Ostrowski, 68, Wausau passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born February 14, 1951 in Wausau, son of the late Edmund and Mildred (Beck) Ostrowski. On April 6, 1974 he married Candice “Candy” Zynda at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives.
Rick worked at Green Bay Packaging for more than 44 years and also helped his brother Ken with tree removal in the Wausau area. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and helped everyone. He never said no.
Rick proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Rick was a self-taught mechanic and enjoyed tinkering with small engines and repairing them for his family and friends. He enjoyed taking trips to the casino and enjoyed meeting new people there.
Survivors include his wife, Candy Ostrowski, Wausau, his children, Jennifer and Jeremy Ostrowski, both of Wausau, his siblings, Dave (Kathy) Ostrowski, Weston, Leroy (Sue) Ostrowski, Tennessee, Eugene (Janet) Ostrowski, Wausau, Ken (Debbie Meshak) Ostrowski, Rothschild, Glen Ostrowski, New Mexico, Edwin (Sonya) Ostrowski, Schofield and Mary Ostrowski, Marshfield and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Diane, Susie and Robert (Baldy).
At Rick’s request there will be no services held.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
