On Sunday, August 21, 2016, Richard "Dick" Strasser died peacefully at his home in Wausau. His wife of 55 years, Alice, was by his side.
Dick was born in Stevens Point, on January 21, 1929. His parents were Frank and Regina Strasser. He was a retired guidance counselor, having worked for many years at John Muir Middle School in Wausau. He was a proud US Navy veteran and served aboard the USS Cabot during the Korean War.
Dick lead a rich and full life. He greatly enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, golfing, painting, and being with his family.
Dick was a pleasure to be around. He was kind and decent to others, greatly respected nature and its beauty, and led his life with dignity. He taught his sons to live in the same manner. His family will greatly miss him but is comforted by the fact that he has found peace.
Dick is survived by his wife Alice, his son Greg (Alice), and his son Tim (Christine); and three grandchildren, Lexie, Ricky and Taylor, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his brother, William (Pat). He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Rick (Cheryl Allen) and his sister, Sue Newby (Ron).
