Richard J. Ostrowski
63, a former Chicago resident, died Thursday, December 13, 2001 at the home of his sister in Thorp.
He was born September 17, 1938 in Milwaukee, son of the late Thomas and Helen (Pestka) Ostrowski.
Richard was a veteran of the Army serving from 1957 until 1960 .
Prior to his retirement, Richard was employed at Northrop Corporation, Chicago. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, crossword puzzles and spending time with his dog, "Rusty". Richard was a member and Liturgy Commissioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmal Catholic Church, Chicago.
Survivors include one brother, Clarence (Betty) Ostrowski, Ontonagon, Mich.; one sister, Bernice (Louis) Depa, Thorp, one brother-in-law, Walter Vogdus, Fond du Lac; his best buddy, Richard Szczepaniak, Chicago; four nieces, Ann Cadotte, Kathy Dejno, Pat Warczynski, and Denice Wasicki; three nephews, John Ostrowski, Jeffery Ostrowski and David Ostrowski and many great nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Ostrowski, one sister, Leona Vogdus and one nephew, Leonard Zynda.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2001 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Anthony Dichoso will preside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the church.
