Richard W. Kohnhorst Sr

Richard W. Kohnhorst Sr., 93, Athens, died Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Marshfield Rehabilitation Center. Richard was born February 19, 1909, in Edgar, son of the late William and Elsie (Harding) Kohnhorst. He married Frances Bacon on January 4, 1932, in Wisconsin Rapids. She preceded him in death May 31, 1971. Richard was a cheese maker for Kraft Foods, Milan and was a dairy farmer in the town of Bern. He enjoyed playing cards, especially sheephead and smear. Survivors include three sons, Karl Kohnhorst, Marshfield, Donald (Mary) Kohnhorst, Wausau, James Kohnhorst, Athens; four daughters, Mary (William) Kellnhofer, Denver, Colorado, Dorothy (Frank) Eckes, Marshfield, Bonnie (Franklin) Andreas, Wausau and Sharon Olson, Athens; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Kohnhorst, Tomahawk. Besides his wife, Frances and his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Richard Jr. two sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2003, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Milan. The Rev. Roger Moldenhauer will officiate. Burial will be in Athens Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
