Rev. S. Stephen Foster, 62, of Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004. He suffered a heart attack while snorkeling on vacation in Mexico.
He was born November 3, 1941 in West Allis son of the late Samuel L. and Mary (Challacombe) Foster. On June 15, 1963 he married Sherian Wilson in Bloomington, Minn. She survives.
Pastor Steve has served as an ordained minister in the Wisconsin United Methodist Church Conference since 1966.
Survivors, besides his wife Sherian Foster, Wausau, include his children and grandchildren, David (Meg) Foster, Dillsburg, Penn. and their children Danika and Jon, Tracy (Paul) Roller, Lodi, and their children, Kiley and Jessie, Dan Foster, Madison, Becky Foster, Marshfield; three brothers, Don (Barbara) Foster, Mukwonago, Tim (Linda) Foster, Hudson, Lee Foster, Waukesha; and six nieces and nephews.
The celebration of Steve's life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. The Rev. Jerome Lipka, Palmyra and Rev. Kerry Wilson, Marshfield will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church with a luncheon being served concurrently. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Eagle, Wis. at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2004.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or Wesley United Methodist Church 1101 Elm Street Wausau, WI 54401. They will be distributed among Wesley Church, Asbury Seminary, Wilmore, KY and the Oakes Museum, a teaching museum of natural history in Grantham, PA.
