Reinhart P. Wiese

Reinhart P. Wiese 89, Wausau formerly of Athens died Monday May 7, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wellington Place, Rib Mountain. He was born October 3, 1922 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Ewald and Louise (Feleske). On September 20, 1950 he married Mildred Schmidt at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She preceded him in death on December 3, 2001. All his life Reinhart was a logger and dairy farmer in the Athens area. He sat on the Board of Directors for Marco Cooperative from 1968- 1986 and was very proud of the fact that he was featured in the December 1997 article of Partners magazine. Most of all Reinhart cherished the time he spent with all his family especially his grand and great grandchildren. No matter where he went he loved to hold and parade around all the babies that he could. This truly brought a smile to his face. Survivors include his six children, Mary (Roger) Mittenzwei, Marathon, Martin (Gail) Wiese, Athens, Judy (Solomon) Davis, Bedford, Ind., Walter (Carla) Wiese, Medford, Pauline (Merrill) Schield, Schofield, Wanda (Rick) Venzke, Athens, one sister-in-law, Cecelia (Carlton) Frank, Athens, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren with two more to be added to the family this summer. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Mollie Gumz and his brothers, Arthur, Harold and Carl Wiese. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 12, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl and the Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
