Regina "Jean" Micklan
93, 232 N. 2nd Avenue, Wausau died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Wausau Manor.
She was born August 3, 1913 in the town of Emmet, daughter of the late Fred and Emma (Soczka) Petrowski. On June 7, 1947 she married Peter Micklan at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1965.
Jean worked as a supervisor at Yaeger's Bakery for over nine years and also at the former Marathon Rubber plant. She was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #388 Auxiliary, Wausau. Jean had a great passion for polka dancing but she never turned down the chance to play a game of cards or take a trip to the casino.
Survivors include her niece, Julie Petrowski-Friedrich, Wausau, one nephew Jack (Denise) Petrowski, Wausau, special friend, Timothy Sliwicki, Wausau, along with other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by six brothers Ellie, Wally, Frank, Matt, Leo and Jack Petrowski.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday 11:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
