Raynold Joseph Fischer

Raynold Joseph Fischer, 88, 3765 Redwood Street, Fenwood, died with his family at his side Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbotsford. Raynold was born August 16, 1913 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Bauer) Fischer. He married Meta Schoppenhorst on September 8, 1941. She survives. Raynold was the owner an operator of Fischer Truck & Bus Service Inc. He owned trucks, hauling logs, milk, and Halder granite, through out Marathon County. In 1951 he acquired the school buses for the Edgar School District. His greatest enjoyment was transporting school children to and from school and sporting events. He was a school bus driver for over 40 years, retiring in 1991 when he passed his business on to his children. Raynold was proud to be a 50 year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Marathon Court. Besides his wife, Meta he is survived by three sons Donald (Jane) Fischer, Fenwood, John (Patsy) Fischer, Fenwood and Steve (Shelly) Fischer, Marathon; two daughters, Carol (Du Wayne) Hagen, Edgar and Mary Kay (Dean) Adamski, Marathon. Raynold enjoyed his 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by one sister, Delores Knauf, Marathon. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Fischer, Joseph Fischer; and two sisters, Lorraine Clark and Margaret Fischer. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2002 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Bernard Raschke will preside. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. parish vigil Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful staff at Continental Manor nursing home for the care and compassion they always showed Raynold.
