Raymond Strehlow

Raymond "Ray" O. Strehlow 86, Wausau, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Mount View Care Center, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born March 9, 1921 in Wausau, son of the late Otto and Eleanor (Scholz) Strehlow. On June 1, 1946 he married Esther Grasmick in Wausau. She survives. Ray worked at Crestline for 47 years, retiring in 1986. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and an occasional trip to the casino. He loved spending time with his family especially relaxing on his front porch with his wife, Esther. Survivors include his wife, Esther, Wausau; daughters, Carol (Stan Wianecki) Scheel, Kathy (Noel) Stubbe and Mary (Charles) Wolfe, all of Wausau; five grandchildren, Jamie (Brenda) Scheel, Cindy (Michal) Strom, Stacey (John) Miller, Kelley and Ryan Wolfe; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Anita Warnke, Rosemary Roubinek and Jane (Vince) Ala; brothers, Gerald (Joyce) Strehlow, Joseph (Sue) Strehlow, Thomas (Mary) Strehlow, and Dave (Darlene) Strehlow and many other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Stubbe; two brothers, Herbert and Eugene and two brothers-in-law, Walter Warnke and James Roubinek. The Memorial mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Gerald Pehler will preside. Friends may call Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
