Raymond J. Madden, 86, Wausau, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at North Central Health Care Facility, Wausau.
He was born December 16, 1930 in Wausau, son of the late John and Sophie (Londo) Madden. On June 21, 1975, he married Doris (Dittmar) Hirsch in the Town of Texas. She survives.
For many years, Raymond drove truck for the former Riverside Sand and Gravel Company and also owned and operated the former Madden Stop and Shop in Wausau. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed deer and partridge hunting and fishing, especially trout fishing. He was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Doris Madden, Wausau; two children, Gary Madden, Tomahawk and Barbara Howland, Wausau; one step-daughter, Laurie (Robin) Kurth, Wausau; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four siblings, Donald (Fern) Madden, Winchester, Gerald (Joan) Madden, Wausau, John (Sharon) Madden, Merrill and Jeanette Goede, Wausau; sister-in-law, Barbara Madden, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one step-son, David (Peggy) Hirsch; and two brothers, Patrick and Eugene Madden.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Kemp Jones will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
