Raymond E. Dehnel, 84, died Saturday, November 16, 2024 under the care of Compassus Hospice at Waterfall Health of Wausau.
He was born October 27, 1940, in Weston, son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Buhr) Dehnel. On August 6, 1966, he married Judith Josiger at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau.
Ray worked as a journeyman millwright at Wausau Paper and served his country in the United States Army. He loved spending time in the woods, hunting, fishing and cutting wood. Ray also enjoyed a trip to Washington D.C. to see the monuments and watching the Packers and Brewers. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and his dog, Tilly.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Charles (Linn) Dehnel, Mark (Lynn) Dehnel and Brenda (Darryld) Borchardt; grandchildren, Andrew (Rylee) Dehnel, Landon (Jessica) Dehnel, Allyson (Dakota) Osborn, Emma, Sarah, Joshua and Rachel Dehnel; great-granddaughter, Evelyn; brother, Larry Dehnel.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Fred and Elmer.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Tom Lindner will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau.
