Raymond D. Myszka
80, 930 Hickory Road, Wausau died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born September 6, 1927 in Poniatowski, son of the late John and Rose (Gesicki) Myszka. On September 8, 1969 he married Josephine Nikolai in Wausau. She survives.
Ray retired from the Milwaukee Rail and Soo Line Railroad on May 23, 1986 after 38 years. Ray enjoyed spending time with his wife Josephine at their cottage up north on Alva Lake. He and Josephine traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Nova Scotia and Alaska. Some of Ray's favorite pastimes included carving and painting ducks, geese and other birds but most of all he enjoyed reading mystery books and talking about his life with the railroad.
Survivors include his wife Josephine (Nikolai) Myszka, Wausau, one sister, Lucille Zastrow, Wausau, his sisters-in-law, Mary Jane, Lorina, Dorothy and Florence Nikolai, his brothers-in-law, LeRoy Carlson, Jerry (Reggie) Nikolai and Larry Nikolai along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine Gajewski in 1963, six brothers, Clem, Frank, Walter, Mike, George and John Myszka and three sisters, Regina Wisneski, Mary Schulz and Eleanor Writz.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. The Rev. Daniel Hackel will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
